Autumn

Hey lovelies..

I haven't posted in quite a while as I have been a busy bee recently but after reaching 100 followers on bloglovin, I decided to start posting regularly again as I miss writing lots.

So the past month or two has been really busy, I moved into my own little house, it's on a beautiful tree-lined street and it's a very cute little house. I've been loving finding little homes for all of my little trinkets and shopping for homeware is my new favourite hobby.

I've also become a bunny mama to two adorable little baby bunnies. I've named them after two of my favourite characters off Orange is the New Black: Miss Claudette and Suzanne (a.k.a Crazy Eyes!) They are both very naughty and playful and they are keeping me busy, my instagram feed has become a timeline of constant bunny updates (so if that's your kind of thing, click the link to follow!)

Now that the cold dark nights are upon us, I've also been watching a lot of Netflix! I watched the entire series of The Originals in a week, eek. I'm terrible for binge watching, I absolutely love getting all cosy on my new sofa with a cup of tea and getting stuck into a series. At the moment, I'm watching Homeland season 3 on Netflix and I'll recommend it to anyone who hasn't already watched it.

Life has been really rather good lately, I love the change in the seasons and this really is my favourite time of year. I thought I'd share with you a little list of the reasons why I love Autumn...

1) Autumn/Winter clothes: I absolutely love getting all wrapped up in cosy knitwear, cute coats, hats, scarves and winter boots! This time of year is also definitely kinder to my pastey, sunburn-prone ginger skin.

2) Bonfire night: This is one of my favourite events of the year, I love attending a local display, drinking a hot chocolate and getting excited like a little kid about the fireworks. It brings back memories of the excitement of bonfire night and how after the 5th November I was allowed to officially be excited for Christmas.

3) The X Factor: I'm absolutely loving watching the X Factor this year, I'm really glad that Simon and Cheryl are back and there's a lot of talent this year, I absolutely love Andrea and Chloe-Jasmine!

4) Cosy nights in: I love nights out with the girls but in the winter I'd much prefer ordering some yummy food, drinking wine and watching films with the girls in our onesies and not feeling guilty about missing out on nights out.

5) Seasonal drinks: A large percentage of my wages at this time of year will be spent on seasonal drinks from Costa and Starbucks, I absolutely love a gingerbread latte and a honeycomb hot chocolate and with the weather turning colder, there's no better excuse to indulge.

What are you guys loving the most about Autumn and do you have any good Netflix recommendations for all my cosy winter nights in?

September Skincare

Happy September guys!

I love Autumn and while I'm sad to be saying goodbye to the last of the British Summertime, I am ready to embrace all the things I love about Autumn. I can't wait to start wearing chunky knits and winter boots, sipping hot chocolate and crunching through the Autumn leaves!

Hope you guys all had a lovely Summer, mine was very up and down but good things are on the horizon :)

I thought for my first September post, I would share with you my current skincare routine. My skin is normal/combination but recently has been more on the oily side with huge breakouts of spots..... (not fun.)

My daily skincare routine at the moment begins with cleansing my skin or removing makeup at night with the Loreal Paris Micellar Water. I love this product, it removes eye makeup so easily, even mascara and leaves my face feeling refreshed.

When I'm showering,  I'll give my skin an extra cleansing boost with the La Roche-Posay Effaclar purifying foaming gel, this is a lovely cleansing product. You only need to use a small amount and it foams up nicely,  it is great for oily skin and helps to prevent breakouts from occurring.

After cleansing, I'm currently using the Garner softening toner as it's important to include toner to keep the skin firm but soft.

I've also been using the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo gel to treat the breakouts and I've noticed within a couple of days a visible reduction in the size and redness of the spots, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Also I use the No7 day cream to add a little moisture and find that this leaves my skin lovely and soft.

I've also tried out the Love Lettuce Fresh Face Mask from Lush this week as an added treatment for my oily skin. It states that it will give your skin a radiant glow and it is very exfoliating. I've only used it once so far but I find it leaves my skin lovely and soft and with an added glow/freshness. It also smells divine with the scents of almond and lavender and I recommend it to anyone with normal/combination skin like me.

So that's my September skincare favourites, is there anything you guys can recommend for me to try for next month?

Thanks for reading :)

To Bob or not to Bob....

Hey guys,

So today's post is about one of the most versatile hairstyles there is....the Bob! They can come in different shapes and sizes, the long bob, an asymmetrical cut, sleek or textured, yet they always manage to look stylish.

I've been growing my hair out of a pixie cut for about 3 years now and I've finally achieved shoulder length locks but I feel like my hair is now well.....just a bit meh. It's at that stage where it's neither long or short and it flicks out at every angle when I get a little bit hot in this summer weather. I always get to this stage and then face the dilemma of whether to cut it back off or persevere.

I'm still trying to decide at the moment, so if you are facing the same dilemma as me here is a little bit of Bob hair inspiration for you.

Thanks for reading, I'll let you guys know whether I decide to go for the chop or not! What are your favourite celebrity hair inspirations?

This Week I.....#1

Hey guys,
I've decided to start a little series of lifestyle posts about what I've been up to over the past 7 days as I know that these are the posts that I love reading the most on other lifestyle and beauty blogs. So here's a little round-up of what I've been up to this week.

This week I have been.....

Watching: Orange is the New Black

I'm a little bit behind everyone else but this weekend my friend Sophie and I had a Netflix binge and started watching Series 1 of OITNB. I have to say I'm hooked already. I love the fact that every episode focuses on a different character's back story and why they have ended up in prison and the witty dialogue and quirky characters have got me hooked! Give it a watch if you haven't already.

Eating: Bills

I'd heard of Bills in London and have been regularly perving at other bloggers' food porn on Instagram, so when a new Bills restaurant opened recently in Nottingham, I knew I had to try it out. I had a chicken and chorizo burger with avacado and skinny fries and it was so delicious I forgot to Instagram it before I tucked in, oops. I had just enough room to squeeze in a warm chocolate brownie with milk icecream and it was so good. I loved the sound of everything on the menu so I'll definitely be heading back there soon.

Listening: Banks

If you haven't already heard of Banks, Jillian Banks is a 26 year old singer-songwriter from LA.
She came third in the BBC's Sound of 2014 list and she is on her way to major stardom. I absolutely love her RnB/electro sound combined with her very personal lyrics about relationships. Personal faves of mine include her acoustic cover of Aaliyah's ''Are You That Somebody?'' and recent single ''Brain''. Check her out and let me know what you think.

Running: Race for Life 10k

On Sunday, I ran my first ever 10k race and after a few months of training I was very happy with my time of 1hr 3 mins. It was for a great cause and my family and friends came down to cheer me on which definitely helped when I started to get a bit red faced, sweaty and tired. It was a brilliant experience and it was so lovely to see so many girls and women turning out to run for their loved ones that have been lost to cancer, it was an inspiration to me and I'm definitely going to be running again next year.

What have you guys been up to this past week?
